Start your journey from Mumbai early in the morning, around 5 AM, and drive to Trimbakeshwar (180 km, 4 hours) via NH 160. You can stop for breakfast on the way at any of the roadside eateries or dhabas.

Reach Trimbakeshwar by 9 AM and visit the Shri Trimbakeshwar Shiva Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The temple is located between three hills,
Brahmagiri, Nilagiri, and Kalagiri, and has a unique linga with three faces representing Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma. The temple also houses the sacred Godavari river, which originates from the Brahmagiri mountain. You can take a holy dip in the Kushavart Kund, a sacred pond in the temple premises, where the Godavari river reappears after disappearing at Brahmagiri. The kund was built by Shrimant Sardar Raosaheb Parnerkar, who was the Fadnavis of Indore State. You can also visit the other temples and shrines in the temple complex, such as Ganga Mandir, Jwareshwar Mahadev, Kancheshwar, and Kedareshwar Mahadev.

Spend about two hours in the temple and then proceed to the Gajanan Maharaj Math, a spiritual center dedicated to Shri Gajanan Maharaj of Shegaon. The math is located about 2 km from the temple and offers various facilities for devotees, such as accommodation, food, library, meditation hall, and a museum. You can learn about the life and teachings of Shri Gajanan Maharaj, who was a saint and miracle worker in the 19th century. You can also participate in the daily prayers and rituals at the math.
After spending an hour at the math, head to the Nivarutti Maharaj Samadhi, a memorial of Sant Nivruttinath Maharaj, who was the elder brother and guru of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj. Sant Nivruttinath Maharaj was one of the pioneers of the Warkari sect and a great devotee of Lord Shiva. He took samadhi at Trimbakeshwar in 1219 AD and his samadhi is located near the Brahmagiri hill. You can pay your respects to the saint and seek his blessings.

By this time, it will be around 1 PM and you can have lunch at any of the nearby restaurants or hotels. You can also try some local delicacies such as misal pav, vada pav, poha, or bhakri.

After lunch, you can either return to Mumbai or explore some other attractions in Trimbakeshwar or Nashik. Some of the options are:

Visit the Anjaneri hill, which is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. It is about 10 km from Trimbakeshwar and offers scenic views of the surrounding valleys and waterfalls. You can trek to the hilltop and see the Anjaneri fort and temple.

Depending on your choice of destination, you can spend about two to three hours there and then start your return journey to Mumbai by 5 PM. You can reach Mumbai by 9 PM or later depending on the traffic conditions.
